First Dinosaur Discovery
Department of Mineral Resources was at Phu Pratu Teema in the Phu Wiang Nation Park, Wiang Kao district, Khon Kaen province in 1976 Sutham Yaemniyom a geologist of the Department while conducting a uranium exploration.
The bone, shown below, is a detail part of femur of a giant sauropod dinosaur aged Early Cretaceous. After the first discovery.Vertebrae paleontological expeditions in cooperation between the Department of Mineral Resources and french paleontologists had progressed. The Investigations had reported many discoveries the dinosaurs and contemporaneous animals from Mesozoic rocks in northeastern Thailand.
